About
Hi, I’m Gnosnay. I’m a software developer with broad interests, currently living and working in Singapore.
Writing blogs in the AI era feels different. In my work and daily life, I’ve increasingly noticed that people in the AI generation have become more isolated: the internet no longer feels as vibrant, producing serious content has become more professionalized, and personal expression or reflection can seem irrelevant in the face of AI. Some even argue that the number-one use case of AI is emotional companionship 1. So, do personal emotions and learning journeys still matter?
I don’t know. So I started this experiment. I still believe personal thoughts and taste are worth recording. And a person’s learning journey can still be useful to others: as the “curse of knowledge” suggests, once you learn something, it’s hard to remember how people think before they know it. Writing down “why I didn’t know” and “why I didn’t understand” is a fascinating experience for me—and hopefully for you too.
Of course, I don’t insist on writing everything 100% by hand. That’s also why I named this blog “Gnosnay and His Silicon Sidekick”: the future belongs to carbon-based life as well as silicon-based life—but eventually, it will be silicon-based. This blog may often be written from a silicon-based perspective, summarizing our everyday conversations and my own reflections.
